But no one wants to stand and tinker with ten bottles and complicated marinades when the gang is already there. You want something that goes quickly, tastes great and works with everything on the grill.

The solution is a single grilling oil that you mix together in minutes: Abuelaz Olive Oil N°1 that can withstand the heat, smoky paprika and garlic for the grilling feeling, and a splash of Wine Vinegar N°1 when you want to make it a marinade. You will need:

  • 1 dl (100 ml) Abuelaz Olive Oil N°1
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (pimentón)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano (or thyme/rosemary)
  • 0.5 tsp Abuelaz Himalayan Salt
  • 1 tbsp Abuelaz Wine Vinegar N°1 (for marinade mode)
  • Optional: 0.5 tsp chili flakes, 1 tsp honey, grated lemon zest

Step-by-step

This is how you do it

Grilling

  1. Pour the olive oil into a small bowl or jar.
  2. Squeeze in the garlic and stir in the smoked paprika, oregano and salt.
  3. Brush on corn, halloumi, bread or vegetables before grilling – and drizzle over a splash afterwards.

Turn it into a marinade

  1. Add 1 tbsp Wine Vinegar N°1 (and optionally a tsp of honey) and whisk together.
  2. Turn in the chicken, kebab or halloumi and leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes (preferably an hour in the fridge).
  3. Grill – and drizzle over extra oil just before serving.

Pro tip: Make a double batch and store in a clean squeeze bottle in the fridge – then you’ll have grill oil ready all weekend long. Shake before use.
